FAQ’s
What gear does my child need for lessons?
All your child needs to get started is comfortable athletic clothing, court shoes (no black soles), and a water bottle. If they already have a paddle, great! If not, I have extras available to borrow during lessons — no need to purchase right away.
What should we bring to each lesson?
Please bring a water bottle and any gear your child prefers to use, like their own paddle. I also recommend a small towel. Most importantly, bring a great attitude and readiness to have fun and learn! If you or your child does not have a pickleball paddle, let Emily know beforehand and she will provide a paddle at your lesson/clinic.
What ages do you teach?
I work with all ages. I offer private and group lessons for all ages, young or old! However, for my homeschool group classes, typically ages 6 to 14.
What happens if we miss a session?
On weeks where I am missing a Monday due to my travel and competition schedule, I have rescheduled the class to a different day of the week. If you know BEFORE the month begins that your child will not be able to attend the make-up class, contact Emily and she will accept a prorated price for that month. However, this does not apply to student-initated absences that occur during the month (if you did not communicate with Emily before the month begins, the prorated price will not be accepted). If you are unable to make a class due to unforeseen circumstances, please contact Emily ASAP and she will do her best to offer a credit or work with you and your child to reschedule.
How do Homeschool Funds work?
Homeschool funds are accepted for my homeschool group clinic packages. Families can use these funds to cover the cost of monthly sessions. If I’m not already a vendor for your school, please reach out and I’ll be happy to consider becoming a vendor!
How are lessons and clinics structured?
Each clinic and lesson is 60 minutes and includes a warm-up, skill-building drills, movement-based games, and match-style play (when appropriate for the age/level). Clinics are upbeat and active, designed to build both confidence and coordination while keeping things fun and age-appropriate. Group and private lessons will be structured more specifically to the individual players according to Emily’s judgment and the student’s request.
Where are clinics and lessons taught?
All clinics and lessons are taught at SoCal Pickleball Club off Winchester Rd in Temecula. It is an indoor pickleball facility with four dedicated pickleball courts, air conditioning, bathrooms, and has an open seating area for spectators to watch.
